Reading tonnes of positive reviews about each product, I purchased the Plum Green Tea Kit in a hope that it will help in sorting out skin issues. Let's find out how Plum Green Tea Alcohol-Free Toner worked for me.

Plum Green Tea Alcohol-Free Toner For Oily Acne-Prone and Combination Skin

Hello beauties, here I am with a review of another product from Plum Green Tea Range. This time it is Plum Green Tea Alcohol-Free Toner.

Being an Oily and Acne-prone skin type, I am always in search of a good toner that helps to tighten my pores and controls excess oil effectively. Winters have gone well but the sweat and humidity during summer and monsoon has made my skin extremely oily. Reading tonnes of positive reviews about each product, I purchased the Plum Green Tea Kit in a hope that it will help in sorting out skin issues. Let’s find out how Plum Green Tea Alcohol-Free Toner worked for me.

Description

Let’s put alcohol to better use 🙂 Make this best-selling, alcohol-free toner from plum an essential part of your skincare regimen for clear, smooth, well-toned skin. Its astringency (tightness) on your skin that you can feel is great for enlarged pores. Antioxidant organic green tea extracts that help control blemishes and acne (pimples). And gentle exfoliation of debris and dead cells thanks to glycolic acid. 100% alcohol-free

Ingredients of Plum Green Tea Alcohol-Free Toner

Aqua, Glycerin, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor oil, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Sodium Gluconate, Phenoxyethanol, Glycolic acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Fragrance.

Ingredients list seems quite brief and eye-catching. Let’s see how effective it will be.

Plum Green Tea Alcohol-Free Toner is suitable for

Oily , Acne-prone and Combination skin.

Plum Green Tea Alcohol-Free Toner is not suitable for

Cystic acne, Dry skin and Extremely sensitive skin

Packaging of Plum Green Tea Alcohol-Free Toner

The toner comes in a cylindrical white opaque bottle with all details printed on it. Seriously, I didn’t expect the bottle to be that big. It is a quite big and bulky bottle with a press top cap that works fine but I always mess up taking out extra toner. It would be better if it comes with a spray bottle.

Price of Plum Green Tea Alcohol-Free Toner

200ml of this Toner is priced at ₹390 which I think is fairly priced as it is a big bottle that would easily last you 4 months.

How to use Plum Green Tea Alcohol-Free Toner

After washing your face, pour a small quantity of toner on your palm and splash it on your face. You could also use a cotton ball to dab the toner softly all over. Leave on and let your skin soak it up. Let toner air dry, don’t rush to wipe it off. Follow it up with moisturizer suited for oily skin.

In my morning skincare routine, I just pour on my palm and dab it on my face and let it dry by itself. At night, I use cotton balls to wipe off my face with it.

Texture and Fragrance of Plum Green Tea Alcohol-Free Toner

The toner has the refreshing smell that lingers for a minute or two until it dries out. It has the same fragrance as other Plum Green Team Range products. It seems good to me but can be strong for sensitive noses.

Texture and color of toner is exactly like water. It is transparent in color and has flowy consistency like water. That’s why I want it to be in the form of a spray-bottle which will make it easy to use.

My views on Plum Green Tea Alcohol-Free Toner

I started using this Toner regularly twice a day with other Plum Green Tea Range Products. Talking about my first use, I cleansed my face with Plum Green Tea Pore Cleansing Face Wash then used this toner. Taking a cotton ball I started to wipe my face with it. After the first wipe it started stinging a bit which I read about in many reviews that it may sting a bit as it has Glycolic acid in it. That stinging discontinued as the toner dried out. So,if it stings a bit it’s completely fine.

Next time, I used it by directly dabbing on to the face. This time stinging was a bit less and it felt like something was working on my skin. This way I felt better than before.

With one week of regular use, I felt that the stinging had been reduced considerably or you can say I got used to it. As the toner has glycolic acid in it that is known to be one of the chemical exfoliators. If you are not used to them, you may take some time to adjust with it . Keep in mind you should start with less concentration and then intensify it with time.

After the application of toner, my skin feels refreshed and hydrated. It gets air dried after a minute or so and leaves my skin soft and smooth. But it does feel a bit sticky to me even after drying or maybe it’s the weather that made me feel so. After it I top up my face with Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer.

After a week or two of usage,I started feeling the difference in my skin’s texture. It has improved a lot and I didn’t face any breakouts issues. But I didn’t see if it had controlled the excess oil production on my face that was the major concern of mine. I was expecting a bit more from it. Maybe it will work for me when the weather changes a bit.

Overall, the toner makes me feel refreshed. It hydrates my skin pretty well and controls my acne and . Also, it helps me in reducing pore size to a certain level. It will work great for combination skin and oily acne-prone skin but might not be enough for people with extremely OILY skin.  Or, it may be best suited for them during less humid weather.

Also, the toner is free from alcohol and other harmful chemicals which is a thumbs up for me.

Pros

  • Alcohol-free.
  • Loaded with antioxidants
  • Infused with Glycolic acid.
  • Non-drying.

  • Non-comedogenic.
  • Rejuvenates skin by removing dead skin cells.

Cons

  • Not a travel friendly product.

Summary

The Plum Green Tea Alcohol-Free Toner is a good buy for people with combination and acne prone skin as it will enhance the texture of the skin and won’t irritate their skin due to its alcohol-free nature. During summer, I prefer keeping toner in the refrigerator as it makes me feel more fresh and lively whenever I use it. Hope you will find these tips and reviews helpful.
