Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer Review

Being an oily and acne-prone skin type, I am always in hunt for a moisturizer that keeps my skin oil-free and serves the purpose at the same time. This year, my skin is not behaving well and has become extremely oily due to which I have been eyeing the Plum Green Tea Mattifying moisturizer for so long.

The moisturizer claims to be light-weighted and mattifying in nature plus it is made with non-comedogenic ingredients. Both things sound good to me.

So, let’s see how it worked for me. Keep reading to know the detailed review of the product.

The moisturizer comes in a cylindrical pump bottle packaging on which all details are mentioned. Its pump works perfectly without any jerk.

The bottle is light-weighted and quite handy. It is quite suitable to carry anywhere. The bottle isn’t too big like it’s toner bottle. This can easily slip in your hand bags and is quite travel friendly.

Price

50ml of the Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer is priced at ₹450 which I think is a bit high for the quantity provided.

Texture and Fragrance

The texture of Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer is very light and blendable. It seeps into the skin easily. The consistency of moisturizer is neither too thick nor too runny.

It has a fragrance that I can’t exactly relate with but it smells the same as other Plum Green Tea Range products. Other than that , it has a slight weird smell to it also that just fades off after a few seconds. But seriously for a few seconds it doesn’t smell good.

Skin Type

The Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer is suitable for Combination, Oily and Acne Prone skin.

It is not recommended for people with Cystic acne and extremely sensitive skin.

How to use Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer?

Take two pumps of it on your palm. Dot it on your face and then gently work in circular upward strokes until fully absorbed. You need to be quick after putting it on your face. It just takes a few seconds to seep into the skin.

My views on Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer

Needless to say, I was quite excited to use this moisturizer for so long but everytime I end up buying some other moisturizer. This time I purchased the Green Tea Range CTM kit by plum so as to experience the most hyped and highly rated products on my own. I have already reviewed its Face Wash and Toner you can check out by clicking on these.

After cleansing and toning my face, I started applying this moisturizer on a daily basis. Talking about my first impression, it wasn’t that good.

First its smell was a bit off for me. Secondly, when I applied it on my face I felt my skin a bit numb and I started sweating a bit soon after its application. It didn’t provide any cooling sensation and I didn’t even feel refreshed after its application. I was really disappointed after the first usage as my expectations were tad high.

I continued using it for a few days and then I got used to its smell and my skin felt less numb. The moisturizer felt light weighted and it seeped into my skin quickly but it didn’t give me the “mattifying effect” . My skin feels oily after an hour or two of its application and I have to blot my face constantly. No doubt that the moisturizer is light-weighted but it made my skin oily very soon.

I used the moisturizer for about three months and it really helped me improve my skin’s texture. Also it helped me control my acne problems. I was also using the Plum Green Tea night clarity gel with it and all the products worked great in improving the texture of my skin.

The little numbness on my face can be due to the glycolic acid present in the moisturizer that works to remove the dead skin cells and helps in skin’s regeneration. And, the hot and humid climate of northern India has made my skin extremely oily and I was hoping for some miracle from this moisturizer as it claims to be mattifying but it didn’t go that well for me. Maybe it will work well for people like me in winters or less humid conditions.

Summary

Summing up my experience, the Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer didn’t work that great for me. It was unable to control the excess oiliness and sheen that I was highly expecting it from. I was hoping it would become my HG moisturizer for summer but I would definitely say that Plum’s Green Tea Range has improved the texture of my skin.
